The Veil

Magic of the better kind works by keeping things hidden. We try to treat your threads the way a good veil treats a face.

What we hold

  • Your account details: an email address, a hashed password, a first name, your date of birth, gender and anything you add on your hearth.
  • Your threads, and the notes each witch keeps about you so she can remember.
  • A session cookie, and a second one showing you passed the gate for adults.
  • Records of payments, which means amount and transaction reference. Card details never come near us, as cards are not taken.
  • Ordinary server logs, kept briefly for security.

What we do with it

Data serves the chat, the law of the coven and the upkeep of the lamps, and nothing else. Your messages pass through a model that we host or that a bound provider hosts for us, and safety checks run over them automatically. Threads are not sold and advertisers do not see them.

Counting visitors

A plain counter notes how many people reach the door and what country they came from. Threads lie beyond its sight.

Your controls

Each thread's menu lets you amend her notes on you, keep a transcript or wipe the thread. To remove the account and all that sits in it, send a note to the footer mailbox from the registered email. Should your local law give you further rights, name them and they are yours.
